SUDAN: The government will permit non-Muslims to consume alcohol

The government of Sudan will permit non-Muslims to consume alcohol & strengthen women’s rights, including banning female genital mutilation (FGM). Alcoholic drinks have been banned since 1983 when the country introduced Islamic Law. About 3% of Sudan’s population is non-Muslim.
