Argentine national team star Lionel Messi arrived on Tuesday at Barcelona airport for a flight to Paris after reportedly reaching an agreement with Paris Saint Germain.
French newspaper L'Equipe reports that Messi is expected in the French capital Paris, to sign a contract with the club under Mauricio Pochettino.
Messi, 34, holds the record for most goals scored in Argentina and Barcelona, and has been named one of the best players in the world over the past decade. Messi, a six-time Ballon dor 'player of the year award, burst into tears on Sunday as he bid farewell to his childhood club Barcelona after the club said it would not protect him due to new La Liga rules.
Soccer analysts say PSG's attacking line-up is alarming as it will feature star players Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and now Messi. Messi's arrival will add to Paris Saint Germain's chances of doing well in the Champions League next season.
