Al Ahly's Mabingwa African Champions League

Al Ahly's 3-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs yesterday in the African Champions League final at the Stade Mohammed V Stadium in Morocco made them win the title for the 10th time.

Ahly and Kaizer reached the final after winning the semi-finals where Kaizer beat Wydad Casablanca of Morroco playing Tanzanian side Simon Msuva 1-0 while Ahly thrashed Esperance of Tunisia 4-0 on aggregate in the semi-finals.

In yesterday's match, 45 minutes of the first half were the best for both teams to play with great defensive discipline before the 45th minute, Kaizer's Happy Mashiane received a red card after fouling Ahly striker and Kaizer went into the break with a deficit. .

The second half returned to Ahly making the most of Kaizer's chances on the pitch and scoring three goals to give them 10th place in 14 finals.

Ahly's goals came through Mohamed Sherif in the 53rd minute, Mohamed Afsha in the 64th minute and Amr El Solia in the 74th minute.

This was the first time for Kaizer to reach the final of the tournament where in the quarter-final stage they met Simba of Tanzania and eliminated them by a total score of 4-3.
