Difference between Bachelor WITH EDUCATION (Bsc /BAED WITH EDUCATION) AND BACHELOR OF EDUCATION

Let  just start by saying that There is a lot of misconception about these two programs, where a lot of people have been giving false information. My goal is to help those who will need to know more about education programs so that they can join without too many questions and concerns. This does not mean I am very knowledgeable but at my level I can contribute something to this and help prospective students and our brothers to make the right choices. First of all I would like to inform you that Bachelors of education are of many types, many are accustomed to calling it Bachelors of education in arts (BED ARTS), but the fact is that BED programs are very numerous.
  • Bachelor of Education in psychology (BED PSY).
  • Bachelor of Education in policy planning and management (BED PPM),
  • Bachelor of Education in guidance and counseling (BED GUCO)
  • Bachelor of Education in science (BED SC),
  • Bachelor of Education in special education (BED SPED)
  • Bachelor of Education in adult education and community development (BED AECD)
  • Bachelor of Education in science with ICT,
  • Bachelor of Education in early childhood education (BED ECE) and many more
The difference between a bachelor of arts / science with education and a bachelor of education in (...................) is the concentration of your subjects i.e. where you study most courses to win elsewhere. , for BAED and BSC ED they study many teaching subjects such as history, biology, geography, physics etc. except for BED programs the concentration is very high in teaching methodology so most of the time and credit will be for teaching courses.
Also in B.ED Programs you have other areas of specialization such as psychology, educational policy, planning and management, guidance and cousins and many more As we saw above. People of BED programs are prepared to teach secondary education colleges in the sense of certificate and diploma in teaching but BAED people are secondary teachers although a BED person can teach secondary as well.

The purpose of this article is to eliminate misconception regarding the differences between BAED / BSC ED and BED programs. First of all, it is not true that if you study BED program you have one teaching subject. This is an issue that arises from the respective college system, there are colleges that for a Bachelor of Education in arts / science must opt for two teaching subjects, a good example is UDOM, Institute of education e.t.c.  It is necessary to take two teaching subjects where one is a major subject and the other is a minor one. Although for UDOM. There are BED programs in which you will study one teaching subject such as BED GUCO, ECE and SPED. It is not true that if you read BED programs then you will not be able to study anything other than education, this is not true at all. BED Graduates may have studied something other than teaching at masters and PhD levels.
It should be noted that postgraduate studies depend on what you studied in your undergraduate degree. If a person studied BED program in it and read let's say geography then he can study all masters related to geography such as natural resources management, project planning, climate change, demography, geography itself, GIS which are basically not teaching at all. In short If you have studied art then you can read many masters programs that are art Like socialogy, community development, development studies and many more. And even the BAED / BSC ED will also study postgraduate programs based on their specialization in the undergraduate degree. Finally, There are some colleges that offer BED programs without teaching courses, ie you will study teaching courses and your specialization such as psychology without basic subjects such as physics, history, math, etc. where it will limit unemployment as a school subject teacher. primary or secondary.
