DEGREE PROGRAM FOR (CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY AND GEOGRAPHY) COMBINATION : CBG

The admission procedure requires: 
i. All applicants to lodge their applications directly through institutions and channel all application queries to the respective institutions; 
ii.Applicants to carefully read and understand the guidelines and admission requirements for programmes they anticipate to apply for, provided in this book and on the websites of individualinstitutions; iii.Applicants to ensure they have adequate information for the programmes and institutions of their choice, taking into account competition, one’s passes and career aspirations;
iv. Applicants to ensure that their names and index numbers used during application for admission match with those used during previousexaminations; 
v. All applicants holding foreign qualifications to have their qualifications validated and equated by the respective regulatory bodies before submitting their applications for admissions as follows: a. The National Examinations Council of Tanzania in respect of certificates of secondary education and teacher education;and b. The National Council for Technical Education in respect of NTA level 6 qualifications. vi. Applicants to use the current Undergraduate Admission Guidebook available on TCU website: www.tcu.go.tz for appropriate and updated information on all approved programmes, their capacities and entryrequirements; 
vii. Students to make adequate arrangements to meet the cost related to the programme being applied for; and viii. ONLY applicants who meet the minimum entry qualifications (as stated in Table 1 and 2) to apply for admission.

  1. Bachelor Degree in Shipping and Logistics Management: Principal passes in the following subjects: Advanced Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accountancy, Geography, Economics or Commerce. 
  2. Bachelor Degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management: Principal passes in the following subjects: Advanced Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accountancy, Geography, Economics or Commerce.
  3. Bachelor of Science with Education:Two principal passes in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Advanced Mathematics, Biology, Economics or Geography.
  4. Bachelor of Education in Science:  Principal passes in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Advanced Mathematics.
  5. Bachelor Degree in Official Statistics: Principal passes in the following subjects: Advanced Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography or Economics. If one of the principal passes is not in Advanced Mathematics, one must have a subsidiary pass in Advanced Mathematics/Basic Applied Mathematics or a credit pass in Mathematics at O-Level is required.
  6. Bachelor of Social Work: Principal passes in the following subjects: History, Geography, Kiswahili, English Language, French, Arabic, Fine Art, Economics, Commerce, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Advanced Mathematics, Agriculture, Computer Science or Nutrition. 
  7. Bachelor of Computer Science: Principal passes in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Studies, Agriculture, Geography or Advanced MathematicS
  8.   Bachelor of Accountancy: Principal passes in the following subjects: Economics, Accountancy, Commerce, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography or Advanced Mathematics. If one of the principals is not in Advanced Mathematics an applicant must have at least a subsidiary pass or a minimum of “D” grade in Mathematics at OLevel.
  9. Bachelor Degree in Adult Education and Community Development:  Principal passes in the following subjects: History, Geography, Kiswahili, English Language, French, Arabic, Fine Art, Economics, Commerce, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Advanced Mathematics, Agriculture, Computer Science or Nutrition.
  10. Bachelor of Banking and Finance: Principal passes in the following subjects: History, Geography, Kiswahili, English Language, French, Arabic, Fine Art, Economics, Commerce, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Advanced Mathematics, Agriculture, Computer Science or Nutrition. Those without a principal pass or a subsidiary pass in Advanced Mathematics or a pass in Basic Applied Mathematics must have a credit at O-Level. 
  11. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology: principal passes in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Advanced Mathematics, Agriculture, Computer Science or Nutrition
  12. Bachelor Degree in Environmental Planning and Management:  principal passes in the following subjects: Geography, Biology, Agriculture, Chemistry, Physics, Advanced Mathematics or Economics.
  13. Bachelor Degree in Population and Development Planning:  principal passes in the following subjects: History, Kiswahili, English, Biology, Geography, Advanced Mathematics, Physics or Agriculture.
  14. Bachelor Degree in Urban Development and Environmental Management: principal passes in the following subjects: Geography, Biology, Agriculture, Chemistry, Physics, History, Kiswahili, Accountancy, Commerce, English, Advanced Mathematics or Economics.
  15. Bachelor Degree in Development Economics:  principal passes in the following subjects: Economics, Geography, History, Chemistry, Biology, 
  16. Bachelor Degree in Regional Development Planning:  principal passes in the following subjects: Economics, Geography, Kiswahili, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, Accounts, History, Advanced Mathematics or English. 
  17. Bachelor of Science in Chemistry:Principal passes in Chemistry and in one of the following subjects: Biology, Physics, Mathematics or Geography.
  18. Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health Sciences :principal passes in Chemistry, Biology and either Physics or Mathematics or Nutrition or Geography or Agriculture with a minimum of 6 points. A minimum of C grade in Chemistry and D grade in Biology and at least E grade in Physics or Advanced Mathematics or Nutrition or Geography or Agriculture 
  19. Bachelor of Science in Information and Communication Technology with Management:principal passes in History, Geography, Kiswahili, English Language, French, Arabic, Fine Art, Economics, Commerce, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Advanced Mathematics, Agriculture, Computer Science or Nutrition and one subsidiary. Where the principal passes do not include Advanced Mathematics or Economics, an applicant must have a minimum of “C” grade in Basic Mathematics at O-Level.
  20. Bachelor of Science in Energy Resources :principal passes in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Advanced Mathematics, Agriculture, Computer Science or Nutrition. If one of the principal passes is not Physics, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in Physics at O-Level. Or Foundation Programme of the OUT with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in Science cluster. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in Physics at O-Level. 
  21. Bachelor of Science in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics: principal passes in Chemistry, Biology and either Physics or Advanced Mathematics or Nutrition or Geography or Agriculture with a minimum of 6 points, whereby one must have at least a C grade in Chemistry or Nutrition or Agriculture or Biology
  22. Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and Laboratory Sciences: principal passes in Chemistry and one of the following subjects: Biology, Advanced Mathematics, Geography, Physics or Agriculture. An applicant without a subsidiary pass in either Biology or Advanced Mathematics at A-Level must have a minimum of “C” grade in either Biology or Basic Mathematics at O-Level.
  23. Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology : Two principal passes in Chemistry and one of the following subjects: Biology, Physics, Nutrition, Home Economics, Agriculture, Advanced Mathematics or Geography
  24.  Bachelor of Science in Forestry : principal passes in Biology and one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Geography or Agriculture.
  25. Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Managemen: principal passes in Biology and one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics or Geography
  26. Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education (Agriculture Sciences and Biology):  principal passes in Biology and one of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Advanced Mathematics, Agriculture, Computer Science or Nutrition
  27. Bachelor of Science in HumanNutrition :  principal passes in Chemistry and one of the following subjects: Biology, Home Economics, Agriculture, Nutrition, Advanced Mathematics, Physics or Geography.
