Scania has announced its plan to introduce gas buses in Dar es Salaam especially for the city's Rapid Bus Transport. This product is just one part of the company’s commitment in ensuring that it is driving the shift towards a sustainable transport system.
Tanzania has huge reserves of Natural Gas and needs thousands of city buses for the BRT systems which Scania can deliver. The project, one of its kind in East Africa, is expected to cut fuel use by up to 50% in the commercial city.
